The #Akran of Badagry, Aholu Menu Toyi I, has called on residents, traditional leaders, and political office holders in Badagry to prioritise unity, peace, and collective progress in 2026. In a New Year message signed by Chief Afolabi Hunkanlin, Secretary to the Akran-in-Council, the royal father appealed to all ethnic groups in Badagry — including #Awori , #Egun , Weme, Wheda, Seton, Whlanu, Alada, Ga, and Devi—to work together for the growth and security of the border community. “Let Awori and Egun collaborate, Weme and Alada partner, #Whlanu and #Ga connect, #Wheda and #Seton unite with the Devi, and let us all be our brother’s keeper,” the Akran said. He also encouraged political leaders, local government chairmen, and state legislators representing #Badagry to act in the people’s best interest. “Let us put the needs of our people first,” he added. Highlighting the peace and harmony in Badagry, the monarch warned that this progress must be protected through continued vigilance. He commended local security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Defence, FRSC, DSS, and Customs, for their dedication to community safety. “Your tireless efforts are the backbone of our community’s peace,” he noted. The Akran concluded by urging residents to rededicate themselves to building a stronger and more prosperous Badagry. “May this new year bring joy, peace, and prosperity to Badagry and beyond,” he said.
